Absinthe
Absinthe has been brewed in Tyrol since time immemorial. Thujone, which can be found in the wormwood, made Absinthe the most controversial liqueur of the 19th century and due to this intoxicating ingredient, the production of the spirit specialty was forbidden for decades.

Enjoyment tip from Tyrol
Try this Absinthe from Tyrol in a fireproof shot glass as part of the traditional Tyrolean fire ritual. To do this, fill the glass to the brim and set it on fire with a match or a lighter. Let it then burn for about 3 to 10 minutes – the longer the spirit is on fire, the lower becomes its alcohol content. Finally blow out the flame, let the glass cool down and enjoy the unique taste.
